3rd Early Career Plant Researcher Network Meeting, Halle (Saale), Germany
20. - 21. April 2026
The 3rd Early Career Plant Researcher Network Meeting is targeted towards experienced PhD students and postdoctoral researchers with a strong passion for plant research. The meeting provides a platform to present your work, connect with peers, and discuss key steps for building an independent research career.
This year's meeting will be held as a satellite meeting to the 11th Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium (link) 22. - 24. April 2026. All selected ECR will be registered for the symposium.
Program and Aims
The program combines:
Scientific symposium:
Selected Early Career Researchers will present their own research in short talks and actively participate in scientific discussions.
Workshops and discussion sessions:
These will address crucial aspects for Early Career Researchers (ECRs), including:
- Career development within and beyond academia
- Funding opportunities and fellowships
- Grant writing and proposal strategy
- Application and selection processes
Our goal is to foster an open and supportive environment in which ECRs can exchange ideas, receive feedback, and build a strong professional network in plant science.

Funding and Support
Participation in the 3rd Early Career Plant Researcher Network Meeting is limited to up to 12 selected candidates.
For each selected ECR, we will sponsor:
- Travel expenses (round trip)
- Accommodation for the entire duration of the ECR Network Meeting (20–21 April 2026), and the 11th Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium (22–24 April 2026)
- Registration for the 11th Leibniz Plant Biochemistry Symposium (no registration fee applies)
